With a keen focus on high quality electric bicycles, over the past three decades GEPIDA has continued to pioneer, and has become synonymous with cutting edge manufacturing techniques, matched with high quality finishes. Today the company is one of the most respected manufacturers of eBikes on the market with distribution all over the world and a proven 15 year track record.
GEPIDA Bikes was founded in 1993 in Budapest, Hungary by 20 year old Gyorgy Berkes who opened a bike and repair shop. In 1998 GEPIDA Bikes first entered the international stage and were received with great success at the European exhibition in Cologne, Germany.
By 2004 the brand had expanded further in to the European market and the first electric bike was launched in 2005/6. In 2009, GEPIDA Bikes had become in demand in countries outside of Europe as well, as its reputation for quality manufacturing and design grew. In 2012, GEPIDA was one of the first eBike manufacturer to start a highly successful partnership with Bosch technology which is still in play to this day.
GEPIDA eBikes use only market leading components from esteemed partners such as Bosch for the motor and the entire electrical system, Shimano for the gears and derailleures, FSA for the cranks, Magura and Shimano for the brakes and Schwalbe for the wheels and tyres; making them one of the most reliable and efficient e-bikes out there. Such is the confidence in the quality, all GEPIDA bikes provide a life-time frame warranty.
The Bosch eBike systems continuously enhance their unique and powerful solutions for the electro-mobility market, paving the way for electric bikes well into the future, assisting tomorrow’s electric mobility solutions.
Bosch-driven components help currently more than 50 top European bike brands to gain momentum. Bosch’s product range covers everything from engine units of outstanding performance through high-performance batteries to intelligent, intuitive on-board computers. The key to meeting the considerable expectations of Bosch in terms of performance and comfort is the perfect harmony between the components.
The early success of eBikes motivated GEPIDA to broaden their range further. Thus, in 2012, they were the first, as East European manufacturers, to present their pedelec bikes equipped with a BOSCH electric centre engine, which are suitable for both dynamic and leisurely use.
